                                          ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

We are ¾ mile north of town centre. The nearest mainline railway station is at High Brooms, half a mile down the road. The M 25 is 15 miles away. Coaches arrive at the town centre.

There is a paved car park in front of our house with a macadam path to our front door and a low step up to a tiled porch: there is another low step over the threshold and through the wide front door to the hallway. This and the 19 stairs leading to the first floor and to the landing, where all guest bedrooms are located, has fully fitted carpet.

All have fitted carpet, are accessible straight off the landing, have wide self-closing doors and are spacious, with washbasins, TV, hairdryers, hot and cold running water, twin or double beds, kettle, tea and coffee tray, an armchair, bedside table and lamps. Beds are of standard height; double beds are super-king size.

The guest bathroom is accessible from the landing with a walk-in shower over a low threshold, a full size bath with shower, and washbasin, bidet and toilet of standard height: there are no grab-rails. The bathroom has fully fitted vinyl flooring

There is a separate toilet with pedestal of standard height, also accessible from the landing, and adjacent to the bathroom. There is no grab-rail. This toilet has fully fitted vinyl flooring.

Our continental breakfast is served in the Breakfast room downstairs with standard height tables and chairs and fitted carpet and with two armchairs for relaxation. This is accessible from the hallway inside the front door.

The main shopping centre and some pubs and restaurants are all within ¾ mile and a short  journey by 281 bus, foot, bicycle or car to the right from our house. Local shops and take-aways are a 5 min. walk to the left. Bus stops are a short walk from our house.

You are welcome to wander in our garden, just ask please; access is from our driveway to the rear, via a side gate and down a low step to a paved area; there are also many steps within the garden. Please ask for advice.

Our Victorian home was not designed to be suitable for people with physical disabilities, but we will be very happy to answer questions if clarification or help is required - please ask.

Fire extinguishers are located ONE next to the bathroom, ONE opposite the Guests’ lounge. The Emergency exit is down 19 stairs VIA THE FRONT DOOR. Assembly is on the drive outside.
